Be sure to wear your dancing shoes so you can thoroughly enjoy the incredible line-up of Bay Area talent. You’ll dance to an upbeat lineup featuring swing, soul, contemporary hits and old classics, rock, Mexican reggae, ‘80s and synth rock and rhythm & blues. While you admire the art and take in the sights, you’ll discover a variety of fantastic street musicians playing a range of styles from Spanish-influenced acoustic guitar, romantic acoustic guitar and mandolin and the Chapman Stick.

Zepparella is the Led Zeppelin Powerhouse hailing from San Francisco. Vocalist Noelle Doughty, Guitarist Gretchen Menn, Bassist Angeline Saris, and Drummer Clementine have brought their passion for the sacred music of the greatest band in the world all over the US and Canada. Zepparella shows replicate the nuance and detail of Zep’s catalog while honoring the powerful improvisational journeys for which Zeppelin shows were renowned.
Boombox is Northern California's hottest dance party band playing Rock, Soul and Funk hits from the 70's, 80's, 90's and today! This band has a stellar line-up of serious Bay Area music legends – Teal Collins (The Mother Truckers), April Grisman (Y&T), Miles Schon (Miles Schon Band), Denise Martin (Mr. Big), Angeline Saris (Zepparella) and Jonathan Korty (Vinyl). Wait till’ Boombox unleashes the super-killer jams, you will be up on your feet singing and dancing!!
Sang Matiz fuses energetic World and Afro-Brazilian/Peruvian beats with Flamenco fingerpicking, adding touches of contemporary rhythms such as Pop, Jazz, and Funk. In August 2015, they were chosen and honored to open for the legendary Cuban band, Buena Vista Social Club Orchestra for their final "Adios Tour," followed by an invitation to share a stage with internationally renowned, LA-based band, Ozomatli. In light of Sang Matiz's continued success and growing popularity, they will be joining forces with the eclectic and distinguished Gipsy Kings in May of 2017. The band encompasses talented musicians who have won Grammy Awards as well as those who have garnered various local accolades. Thanks to a grant awarded by The California Arts Council Endowment for the Arts and The San Francisco Arts Commission for Cultural Equity, they released the album, “Ship It!" and are currently in production of their second album.
Sunday, September 2
East Bay Mudd is a dynamic 9-piece band that has been thrilling audiences and dancers all over the Bay Area for years with their upbeat and powerful take on Soul, Funk and R&B classics. The band’s approach is to stay true to the songs they cover both in musical arrangement and style. A stellar lead singer and fabulous rhythm section are the basic ingredients for an outstanding band, but East Bay Mudd has an additional feature that makes the band great – a dynamite horn section. Talented band members include lead singer Tommy Banks, drummer T Moran, bass and guitar players Brian Hough and Bobby Cedro, with Cote Reese on keyboards, Michael Peloquin tenor sax and harmonica, Craig Bryant trombone and Cookie Reese baritone and alto sax.
Cisco Kid is made up of the Bay Area’s top musicians led by Recording Artist Drummer/ Vocalist “Joey Jam” Flores. Their band members, including him, have played with The Temptations, Joe Luis Walker, Smash Mouth, Edwin Star, Al Green just to name a few, will be taking you down memory lane with all the Top Hits of the Legendary Band WAR/LOWRIDER.
Lumberyard is a "good-time, foot stompin' classic rock, funk, soul, techno dance band." The name came courtesy of the late, great Jeff Slingerland. The word LUMBERYARD seemed to be earthy yet not to dirty, obtuse yet still reaky with clarity, appealing un-repulsive and lastly; visually stimulating. Men think of building workshops and women think of knotty pine. Somehow it works. From Britney Spears to Aerosmith, Lumberyard challenges the originals with expert musicianship and razor sharp 3-part harmonies. Also, they do forgotten songs that rarely get heard with other hits weaving through the arrangements seamlessly. Lumberyard is Dan DeShara guitar/vocals, Tom Fleming guitar/vocals, Jim Bogios drums/vocals, Paul Shenton bass.
As you wander, taking in the incredible art and delicious libations, be sure to look out for these talented musicians who will be playing in various locations around the festival:
Soloist Bob Culbertson has been playing the Chapman Stick for 30 years and has sold over 100,000 albums. The intriguing 10 to 12-string instrument bears both guitar and bass elements. By tapping the strings, Culbertson creates vibrations that produce a captivating blend of melodies, bass and chords in the style of light jazz with folk and blues flavor.
John Clarke makes his beautiful, complex pieces look effortless. The truly gifted acoustic nylon-string guitar player plays charming, romantic old-world compositions influenced by Spanish and Latin American guitar.
Feel the love that only Italy can inspire with the romantic acoustic repertoire of HeartStrings Music. The fabulous duo, Al Fabrizio on mandolin and Hugo Wainzinger on guitar, have masterfully captured the essence of amore.
